About Beer and Hymns
Mission
Beer and Hymns is a Community Sing with no regard to spiritual inclination or lack thereof. It's a sing-along of sacred songs, a gathering of people who like the idea of singing old-school hymns over a beer. It's an all-inclusive space for people from all walks of life, and as many people tell us after the event, it's "a great example of the church."
Beer and Hymns is not tied to any specific church or denomination and invites anyone and everyone to attend. We do not preach, pray or proselytize. We do nothing but share a beer, food, and song. We meet on the first Sunday of every month (unless it's a holiday then the Sunday after) at 6 pm and the event lasts one hour. You are invited to come before and get food while the Band prepares and of course, stay after and get to know some new friends.
Good times, fellowship, nostalgia, and more good times. Come as you are, for a drink, a few songs, and community at its best. If you have any questions please contact us and we'd be happy to chat!
History
The Northern Virginia chapter of Beer & Hymns launched in the fall of 2015 and has been going strong ever since. Each seasons stretches from September to May with a special "Beer & Carols" edition in December and a break in the summer. We've had to change locations a couple of times, but our purpose and process have remained the same!
